Happy 10th Birthday IYPF! 10/03/2011
It is our 10th Birthday!!! 10 years ago, in October 2001, more than 120 young professionals convened on Australia's Gold Coast to discuss and plan for how they could help tackle poverty, sustainability, and human rights challenges facing their communities and the world. Out of that meeting, the IYPF was born. See more about our history and the future in this short presentation below: Iypf 10th-birthday-2011 View more presentations from Cameron Neil As indicated in the presentation above, IYPF has started to rebuild in 2011, and we need your involvement to grow the organisation as we together seek to engage more young professionals in creating a better world and assist them with the information, connections and opportunities they need to be effective change makers. Connect, Share & Converse As part of this rebuilding process, we have reviewed all our communications channels to stakeholders, and created new platforms for young professionals to interact with us and each other. 1. Facebook - become a fan of our Page where you can share ideas and converse with other young professionals - also join the Facebook regional group relevant to where you live or that you are interested in Oceania - Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Asia Africa North America Latin America & The Caribbean Europe & The Middle East 2. Twitter - follow us on Twitter and share information with us and your peers 3. Mailing list - ensure you are signed up to receive emails from the IYPF - they go out about once every month - all members are on the mailing list. Becoming a member is free! - for those who are already members, and not receiving the emails, contact us at iypf@iypf.org to update your details 4. Blog - follow our blog on the website (you can set up an RSS feed) Note that all old communication channels on yahoogroups and old Facebook groups will gradually be phased out in the coming months. Serve You can serve the IYPF community by taking up a volunteer role. We are currently seeking Regional Facilitators and people to join the organising committee for the next International Young Professionals Summit. See more here. We will also be announcing the next Annual General Meeting in the near future and calling for nominations to serve on the IYPF Board of Directors for 2012. Stay tuned. Leave us a message Finally, as part of the 10th Birthday celebrations, we'd love for you to join us on a skype chat or leave us a message. Check out our birthday page for how.
